On May 22, 2025, marking the first anniversary of General Secretary Xi Jinping's visit to Rizhao Port of Shandong Port Group for inspection and to convey his greetings, Shandong Port showcased its remarkable achievements made over the past year in port modernization and the development of new quality productive forces through multimedia channels. Among the highlights was the fully autonomous and automated continuous grain unloader jointly developed by our company, Shandong Port Group, and Wuhan University of Technology, which gained significant attention in various reports.
Xinhua News Agency opened its article titled "A Journalist's Notes: Experiencing the Pulse of 'Strong Ports, Thriving Industries, Green Cities' at Rizhao Port" with a vivid description: "At the 150,000-ton grain-specific berth in the port area, the grain unloader extends its steel 'arms' into the ship's hold. With the help of an interconnected 'double-helix' system, the soybeans in the hold are like passengers on an 'elevator,' being transported through an enclosed belt conveyor into the silos of the port's grain storage and transportation base, all in one seamless process." Chen Zhou, Deputy General Manager of Shandong Port Group Rizhao Yuroong Company, stated in an interview, "We have successfully broken foreign technological monopolies. The fully autonomous and automated continuous grain unloader we developed has recently been officially put into operation. All core components of this machine are domestically produced, and its operational efficiency reaches up to 1,500 tons per hour."
Dazhong Daily highlighted this ship unloader as a prime example of Rizhao Port’s commitment to localized innovation and developing new quality productive forces, under the headline "Grain Ship Unloader Now Boasts a 'Chinese Core'". The article detailed its technical features, R&D journey, and breakthroughs. It pointed out, "With four globally pioneering core technologies, this equipment has redefined the technical standards for grain unloading equipment and filled the gap in China's field of fully automated continuous grain unloading technology."
China Transportation News also mentioned this fully domestically produced 'Green Giant' in its editorial "Following Instructions, Here’s How They Deliver!", celebrating its achievements.
