On September 23, the Second Expert Review Meeting for the Draft National Standard "Technical Specification for Wind Resistance and Anti-Slip of Lifting Machinery" was successfully held in Wuhan. This meeting was organized by the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Lifting Machinery and hosted by Wuhan K-crane Ocean Lifting Technology Co., Ltd. The meeting was chaired by Lin Fukui, Director of the Standardization Department at Beijing Crane and Conveying Machinery Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd. The meeting was focused on in-depth discussions and reviews of the "Technical Specification for Wind Resistance and Anti-Slip of Lifting Machinery," laying a solid foundation for the refinement and implementation of the standard. Attendees included several authoritative experts and industry representatives from the lifting machinery sector, such as Wang Shunting, President of Beijing Crane and Conveying Machinery Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd., and Tao Dexin, former Vice President of Wuhan University of Technology.

Lifting machinery is widely used in industries such as ports, shipyards, metallurgical and hydropower construction, bridge construction, nuclear power, and machinery manufacturing. Due to its elevated structure, large wind-facing area, and high center of gravity, it is highly sensitive to wind loads. China's northern and southern regions face the dual challenges of frequent typhoons and unpredictable sudden gusts. In recent years, the number of safety accidents caused by sudden gusts has been on the rise, with some gust wind speeds exceeding the existing standard limit of 35 m/s. The standard under review focuses on addressing this industry challenge, covering core contents such as safety verification calculations for wind resistance and anti-slip, requirements for wind-resistant braking devices, measures for different types of lifting machinery to cope with typhoons and gusts, and routine and post-disaster inspection and maintenance. The revisions and additions to the standard contribute to the gradual improvement of China's lifting machinery safety standard system.

During the meeting, Zhang Dewen, a researcher from the Water Transport Science Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport, provided a detailed explanation of the background, main contents, and modifications of the "Technical Specification for Wind Resistance and Anti-Slip of Lifting Machinery." Combining industry practices with technological development trends, the participating experts reviewed each clause of the standard, offering professional suggestions with a focus on optimizing wind resistance measures for different types of lifting machinery and requirements for configuring wind warning devices.

As the host, Yang Zhong, General Manager of our company, extended the warmest welcome and most sincere gratitude to all the leaders and experts present. He said, "Our company has been deeply engaged in lifting technology and wind safety prevention for 14 years, always safeguarding industry safety through technological innovation. The revision of this national standard not only deepens and enhances existing technical standards but also represents a crucial measure to keep pace with industry development and ensure the safe operation of major equipment. It carries significant meaning as it embodies the collective wisdom of industry peers and reflects the country's high regard for safety production and technological innovation. We feel a great sense of responsibility and pride in participating in this endeavor. In the future, we will continue to focus on technological innovation and actively participate in industry development." Wind Self-locking Anti-climber developed by our company has successfully addressed the century-old challenge of preventing sudden gusts during the operation of large rail-mounted lifting equipment. The relevant technology has been widely applied in domestic ports and shipyards, providing valuable reference for the compilation and revision of the standard.

With the successful convening of this review meeting, the content of the National Standard "Technical Specification for Wind Resistance and Anti-Slip of Lifting Machinery" has been further refined. The implementation of this standard will provide unified and clear technical specifications for wind resistance safety in lifting machinery, reducing safety risks caused by wind disasters. It holds significant practical importance for improving China's machinery safety standard system and ensuring production safety.
